Nine tracks into my mixtape, the transitions were all falling into place, the flow was awesome, I was just beginning to plant in my final record, my elbow hit the left tonearm, the FUCKING NEEDLE SKIPPED!!! ARRGGHHH!

Aah man, sucks!

I've had that with my cd-player once. I was recording a mix, when my broter entered the room, and smacked the door against the table. Guess what? The cd-player skipped, and my mix was f*cked up...

So, you're not the only one who has bad luck sometimes.

Hope this makes you feel any better...

Greets,

DJ X-Tension

I usually record my mixes on the computer. That way if you mess up you can just carry on with a new soundfile and splice the two together.

i feel your pain!
everytime my girlfriend uses a light switch in our house while I'm mixing, there is a loud "POP" in my mixer and that's on the recording, too.

Hold on a sec, spice up the two together? Like how? Can CoolEdit do that? Does that mean I just do individual transitions and glue the whole thing together?

Unfortunately this happens to everyone.
You're in the middle of a great set, or even finishing it up, and suddenly something goes wrong.

There's no choice but to go back and record it anew from scratch.
And if you're a good DJ, you should be able to replicate that great set with no problems, any time of day.
