Roland JP-8000

Hey fellas,

Considering buying a JP-8000 and use it as the main controller in my setup. I've read that all the paramenters ar controllable over midi, and regarding that I have a few questions:

Is it possible to assign some of the parameters (like cutoff, attack etc) to vst instruments like reaktor, fm7, pro52, halion etc. ?

Is it possible to use the arpegiator this way as well ?

Any of you guys have experience with this synth ?

Is it worth buying for $600 ?
The indicated price says $1200 on vintagesynths.com

thx!

if the JP 8000 sends out controller knob movements, and those softsynths can react to those controllers, it should be possible to use the knobs of JP for softsynths yea

IMO it's really worth buying for $600 dollars, this is the synth that every uplifting trance producer wants. It's a legend and very known of it's superb fatty sounding SUPERSAW. Rare synth!

I know rank -1 use it for the strings, but its a special arppegio noise im after. Do you know the new dj passion tune - pitch black on shogun?? im after the noise after the strings, do you know it?

I'm also considering buying the 8000. It's a bit cheaper than the virus, and that's all i have money for now. After summer vacation my buy will probably be a virus and some studio speakers (Mixing on pc speakers is really shite)

Peace

You can't really compare a jp to a virus... It's like comparing the first colour television ever made to our new plasma displays.
