I dont agree with what you said, except for the first and last point. First of all, when you get hired or asked to do a gig or you ask to do it for them, chances are, you will probably be playing to a crowd of people. So if you know your crowd, you try to play what they want to hear. Not playing what they want will usually have no one turning out for your next gig, and most likely, people will be bored and will not dance. Playing to the crowd is important.
Fine play songs you want to play, but lets say someone wants to hear Urban Train, but you hate urban train with a passion, do you play the record, or not play the record? Gain a fan, or loose a fan. make a choice.
One more thing, djs dont need balls to play! Sandra Collins, Dj Mea, Dj Rap etc etc...
