Read This! Trance in USA

Hi,

I'm from Holland and as you all know we deliver topdj's such as Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Marco V and so on... :-) The scene here in Europe is very big and especially in Holland which is known for its bangin' trance productions but most of all parties.

But the reason why I'm posting this thread is that I'd like to know how big trance (or any electronic dancemusic like techno, hardhouse etc.) is in the USA. Not long ago Tiësto said in an interview that he felt like a pioneer in the USA cuz of the undergroundstatus of trance. He really feels like he is one of the 'disciples' of trance in the USA. But is this so? Like here in Holland you have cars drivin' around with bangin' soundsystems pumpin' 140 bpm in the air. Is this the same in the USA? Or is everybody drivin' around pumpin' hiphop and R&B? And what about the clubs? Is it all hiphop or do they also play housemusic? To what music do most of the people (young people) listen? I'm very curious...

I want to go to Holland one day to see that stuff, it' would seem really weird to me!

I live in Florida, in a big college town(University of Florida) and everyone here is riding around in their BMW's blasting mainstream rap. I ride around pumping Oakenfold, getting looks, lol.

And yeah, Tiesto is a leader in the US, I'd say the big names here are Tiesto, Sasha, Digweed, Oakenfold, PvD, Ferry, Marco, and maybe a couple others. Yeah, I know, I left alot out, but those are the ones that might be recognized by the average non Trance head. Yeah, I'd say they sort of Pioneered Trance in the US, sinc if it wern't for these people it might not even be underground

As for the clubs, this is where Trance is starting to push through. Most clubs play hiphop and booty type music, stuff these Frat boys can grind to. There are also quite a few clubs thath ave techno playing, but most of it is some sort of house or something.

At least that is where I am, which is about an average sized U.S. city. The bigger ones like Miami & NY & shit have a bigger techno/Trance scene.
