No...I don't like having sex in the dark. Plus we're leaving the appartment in a bit for the evening, so I figure the whole night with the lights being left off thereafter will make up the difference.

Oh, I thought we were supposed to turn on all the lights?

i believe i read somewhere that a display showing a greater number of black pixels vs. one displaying a greater number of white pixels consumes less energy. if so, thats clever on google's part !

Google users in Canada will notice today that we "turned the lights out" on the Google.ca homepage as a gesture to raise awareness of a worldwide energy conservation effort called Earth Hour. As to why we don't do this permanently - it saves no energy; modern displays use the same amount of power regardless of what they display. i was downtown at school so we went to check it out. nothing really special. the blackout was much cooler.
