I posted awhile ago re the differences between the two synths, the supernova I and II.

I've found a SNI unit for sale at a very good price and it includes the 44voice expansion card with additional patch memory.

So from what I can tell the only thing that the I would be lacking is the inputs/vocoder and FM. The vocoder doesn't worry me in the least as I would never use it but for all other purposes would it be safe the assume that the I+exp is a good buy, or should I wait for a II?

The SNII also has a "DoubleSaw" osc which is two layered saws with a variable detune (if I remember correctly) which the SNI doesn't have.

The last OS update for the SNI actually grants the earlier model the doublesaw waveform.

I wrote to Novation thanking them for doing such a nice thing when it came out!

Yeah the SNI with OS4.x has the Double Saw oscillator too.

So... SNI or wait for a II ?
