Is this a good DJ setup to start with??

I'm new to DJ'ing with hardware. I've only tried mixing with mp3's on my computer...

This is the setup I've put together:

Double CD-Player: Omnitronic CDP-381 Omega
Mixer: Omnitronic DJ-50

You'll find more info here:
CD-Player: http://www.omnitronic.de/showproduc...0602261&lang=en

Mixer: http://www.omnitronic.de/showproduc...0006573&lang=en

The price for all this is 7000 Norwegian kroner (or about 843 $)

I don't want to spend more cash than 10.000 Nkr (or 1205 $)...
And mixing with CD's are my only alternative right now.

So... is this a good setup to start with?
Has any1 got the same setup??
Or have any1 tested these DJ Tools???

Btw... Do u need 2 have a mixer with High,Mid & Bass knobs to mix Trance?
Because the Low-price mixers do not have these knobs...

I don't know that cd player looks pretty crappy, I have been mixing with cds for a while now, and a jog wheel is really nice, pitch bend buttons, just arent responsive enough.

maybe you should check out the numark fusion series. they are pretty good and affordable. You can get a whole set-up from pssl.com for $599 US, and It even has a soft case and headphones. (note this is a table top system, not a rack mount if that matters.)

Thanx for the tip DJ Zinni...

That set looks cool, although the crossfader on that mixer has a long
travelling distance (if u know what I mean?).
Or isn't that important?

What about this one:

What brand is best btw: Numark, Pioneer and so on?

That mixer looks okay for beginners, but I'm sure as you improve quickly you would want a better one very soon.

Don't spend too much money on the initial setup.
Spend money on the records!
Also, why CD players? Are you sure you don't want turntables?

I would sugest a Pioneer DJM-300 to mix with

it's a good startoutmixer that will last for pretty long

if you go with cd i would sugest a denon dual cd-player or a set of CDJ-100s

I can't have turntables yet. I live in a town where people think that vinyls are a thing from the 80's

And if I should start buying vinyls it would be very expensive, because I would have to order them over the internet... and that costs very much

So cd's are my only alternative for now

But when I someday move to a big city I'm gonna buy vinyls like a madman

And thanx for all the help guys, I'm checking out every setup u recommend. Keep em comin'
