on april 19th Armin started his world tour of "Armin Only" in Jaarbeurs Utrecht, Holland. This was the same area where Trance Energy was held earlier this year. This was a major change from previus AO editions, which were held in Ahoy' arena in Rotterdam. First of all, the sound quality in Jaarbeurs Utrecht was top notch, as compared to Ahoy' arena in Rotterdam. Concert was held in the main room (which i think, can handle 20,000 people) and it was filled to its maximum capacity; after all, Armin-Only 2008 was SOLD OUT. As usual, the show run from 10pm to 7am. They had 5 huge lasers, with plenty of lights, strobes, fireworks,etc... The drink/food situation was kind of a rip-off (nothing new lol). You had to buy the "armin-tokens" and the tokens were the only form of payment. 4-tokens was 12Euro which was pretty crazy considering the drink prices; I posted a menu in one of the picture below. Security was very very strict. I was really surprised that there were sooo many live-performances during this years' AO. Armin also played very hard toward the end, and everyone was going crazy. One of the highlights was hearing "big sky" LIVE.
I remember between 1am - 4am it got soo packed that getting from point A to point B was a big project. Overall, it was a fantastic show and I'd give it 9 out of 10.Many people I talked to said that it was so far the best edition of Armin-Only. Armin-Only is on tour and there are numerous shows already scheduled around the world.
