Learning Logic

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a good resource for learning Logic 8. I wouldn't class myself as a complete beginner....I've been using Sonar for years and have a solid understanding of sequencing etc....but I am pretty new to Logic. I've managed to figure a lot of it out myself, but there are several aspects I'm just not too sure on and think that some form of training would really help me. Unfortunately, i cannot afford to spend big bucks on an actual training course, so my limited to either books or training videos.

Does anyone have any experience with either? Is there any products you could recommend?

Thanks!

Logic uses AU's, which shouldn't be a problem, as most plugin companies make their plugins as AU (and RTAS) as well as VST.

so i wont be able to use my vsts... thats a bummer... it looks so neat and orginized... and isnt theres some external program for mac to help run vsts or something? (im talking bout the vsts freewares not native-inst. and such... i just love those little shitty sounding vsts, their so brilliant!)

Erm, Logic can use VSTs too, just you need Mac versions of them, the PC (dll) versions won't work...

Logic 8 on mac does not support vst, if I haven't missed something!

Or maybe you mean that logic can use mac vst, with the fxpansion wrapper - in which case you're right.

Ah, I didnt realise Logic dropped support for VST, there are always wrappers though, the VST format itself is pretty simple so wrappers between the various plugin types arent that hard to make...
