I'm moving into a cosy studio flat this week and I'm looking for some decoration ideas. Here's a small description of Lira's future home:

• All walls are white, except for a wooden wall that separates the bedroom from the dining room. The floor is pale yellow (ceramic) and the ceiling is white too;
  
• It's a really small place (29m²);
  
• Because of my buget, I'd rather keep it simple, but as modern as possible;
  
• I need bookcases for my books. The most challenging thing about them is the fact that I probably need to put them in the dining room;
  
• Finally, I think I'm going to pick beige and blue as the main colours.

And, that's it. I'll try to post some pics tomorrow

Ewwww! Damn, get a rug or two.
Long as it matches the lounge setting it's all good, probably stick to earthy colours perhaps, but a light-navy blue might be alright.

I'll definitely a rug... I like the colour you chose, it will probably match the rest of the place nicely

Ahhh...all white seems harsh on the eyes...

I like my place to have dark neutral colors...

Pick one piece and make that the focal point of your room..as in, design everything else around it (color and pattern selections, etc). So say, a nice rug, or a couch....pull a pattern or color from that and work around it.

When putting pieces of furniture around the room, the largest pieces (couch, arms chairs, coffee table - if it's a really big piece, desk) are the "anchor" of the room...so they should all coordinate. Then you have your medium pieces like smaller tables, lamps, and other accessories, which should also coordinate. This way you'll have unity in your space.

You live in a small space...so I dunno how well those colors you picked will work for paint...they're pretty dark, and dark colors tend to make small spaces feel even smaller. You can also make a small room seem bigger by hanging a large mirror.

The main thing though, is to determine what kind of feel overall you're going for. Cozy warm? Bright and fresh? Relaxing?? You should really know that first.

I like your style...loungey...easy colors...lots of comfortable places to sit or lie down...dimmed lighting...multi-colored Christmas lights make for a great chillout style of lighting...

If you have an Ikea in your area they're a great place to get ideas. They have whole rooms setup inside the store.
