Digital & Advanced DJing Course

Take DJing to a new level by incorporating the latest exciting technologies both in and out of the computer. Students work on the Native Instruments' Traktor platform and expand their creative palette through advanced cue point theory, looping techniques, live sampling, in-depth internal and external effects processing and the simultaneous usage of up to four "virtual decks" of song material. This course also introduces the use of virtual instruments with external MIDI controllers as well as Ableton Live. Students take their art even further as they learn the ins-and-outs of harmonic mixing.
*Final assignment - complete a 30 minute live mix incorporating live sampling, looping and instrumentation in combination with an external MIDI controller.
