I'm in the process of making the switch from CD's to Serato because my collection is simply too large to find a given track I'm looking for at gigs. I know eventually need to get an external HD for my laptop, but in the mean time, I have to do what I can with what I have. Most of my more recent files are in WAV format. To save space, I am going to convert them all to MP3 before transferring them to my laptop. So, I'm wondering if there are any good, reliable programs that have an automation routine to convert several hundred files to 320 kbps mp3's.
Thanks!!!

Checkout Wavelab. It has a really good batch process function with very user definable options - it's always worked well for me. I'm not sure about automating it but you could just put a couple hundred in the list and walk away.......

simple shell script with LAME? ;-)
Foobar can do it as well, you just gotta load up all the wav files into a playlist and use the 'convert' plugin. You'll need to set up your encoder and settings.

I like the price tag on that one and the fact that it can maintain folder structure. Thanks for the recommendation, blacknoizybox.
