So my company has hired this new intern. He's a nice kid, and seems like a normal suburban guy from what I can tell.
Problem is, we all share this one small office, and well, he fucking STINKS.
His sour smell fills up the entire room. It smells like you wore the same clothes twice in a row for a really intense workout and then didn't wash them for a week.
I really don't know what his deal is.

Anyways, what's the best way to remedy this situation without just blatantly offending him by going "Hey man, you fucking stink?"

I was thinking of maybe randomly leaving a bottle of cologne or deodorant on his desk. But that wouldn't guarantee that he would use it.

Oh, and his breath fuckin reeks too. Clearly he's got some hygiene issues.

Just yell out "SOMETHING OR SOMEONE IN HERE REALLY STINKS"

Maybe he'll be embarrassed and then go home and shower after work.

Just pull him aside, tell him what the issue is, and suggest he invest in deodorant/toothbrush. No need to be rude or embarrass him in front of anyone else, and he'll probably thank you in the end.

Yeah I was kind of thinking about that. But don't you ever notice how people who stink never realize they stink (which is part of the whole problem)? So there's a chance that he still wouldn't get the message.

There's usually three people, myself included, in that physical office.

He might be one of those freaks who is against using deodorant cause it may cause cancer. Pull him aside and tell him one on one he needs to be a little more professional if he wants to be successful...some shit like that.

i used to have a mate who was like that, we'd all do lots of cycling, football etc but he never seemed to use deo. thankfully he got a girlfriend and she taught him some sense

conduct or behavior in the work sphere tends to be an extension of at home way of being, and as such these people cannot understand or make a distinction between the two and see nothing wrong with the way they are.


Someone needs to get the message across, because dropping clues here and there will lead to nothing but the person in return thinking it's someone else.
