What is the best web design software?

My budget is around $100. I'm have no experience in doing web design, so I need something that is good for beginners, but I want to be able to build a professional looking website. I need something where I don't have to mess with any code. I want don't want to deal with any HTML or XML..No coding...What's the best software?

Dreamweaver?
Flash?
Microsoft Publisher?

So far, I'm liking Dreamweaver, but I have never used web design software, so it doesn't hurt to ask the more experienced..

Pretty broad question but it sounds like you're after a WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) editor.

Dreamweaver is a decent app that will let you expand into coding if you ever move in that direction. It should fill your purposes in the meantime. But for 100 bucks, you might have a hard time picking up a newer version.

Flash is probably out. It's extremely visual in the construction phase but is probably overkill for what you're trying to do. It also requires use of a scripting language which is similar to Javascript.

I don't know much about Publisher but I haven't heard many good things.

Personally, I use PHPDesigner (http://www.mpsoftware.dk/phpdesigner.php) but it doesn't have a visual design mode. My advice is to try out Dreamweaver, learn to work in the Design mode while you build a base of HTML knowledge then expand into the coding side when you're ready. Despite it's daunting initial apperance, editing the code itself is usually a little easier and more accurate then trusting dreamweaver to handle it for you.

I'm often around if you have more questions.
