How did you become a fan of trance?
Time to recollect, take a look back and tell us about how you were introduced to trance. Did you become a fan right away or did it take some time to get used to?
For me it's been a slow transition.
I became a hip-hoper in the late 80s. Public Enemy, NWA, Eric B & Rakeem. Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock with "it takes two" comes to mind. Great tune! During the late 90s I started to lose interest in hip-hop. The DJs faded, the beats were the same, and the rapping was the same. Money, sex, and violence. At the same time Prodigy came out with Poison and I secretly loved it, could'nt tell it to my friends so I played it loud when I was alone :-) Soon CDs with Fatboy Slim, Chemical Brothers, Crystal Method, Propellerheads, Lunatic Calm, Monkey Mafia and the likes startet to sneak in between my many hip-hop records.
Eventually I got high speed internet and right away I found myself a fan of the current trance, uplifting. I do love a good Big Beat tune or a old school hip-hop track where the DJ is doing some damange scratching it up. But my collection now is dominated by Tiesto, Corsten, Buuren, Judge Jules, Oakenfold and the likes. I love it because I can relax to it and party to it :-)
Thats my story, whats yours??
