Perhaps consider, organising with who ever hosts the files, to rename the mp3 files to .xxx where xxx = anything else. yes/no ?

Who cant download mp3s. I thought everyone could. This seems like a bit of a waste of time

ya are you at work or somthin and you cant download em?? if you want to change it to download as somthing else, do right click save as.. change to all files, and then in the title do

marco v - simulated.mp3 in the title name or .xxx and it saves it as that..

Some people are blocked from download certain files from their companies, like me. I cannot download .mp3 extentions. My topic here is basically a poll to see if people agree or not with the following:
Renaming of the mp3 files, on the actuall source site, to anything
else.

So instead of downloading a file named:
paul_oakenfold_live_in_winchester_set_complete.mp3

Rename it to:
paul_oakenfold_live_in_winchester_set_complete.mpt or whatever
whatever.

This topic is most likely only usefull to those that understand my situation and if they are too in the same situation or similar.

Why not just install AudioGalaxy and download the stuff via AudioGalaxy links, that way it won't go through your company's proxy filter... unless they're blocking the port AG runs on..

The reason that most people rename to .zip or .dat is actually much simpler than people are making out.

i) Some people are restricted to Download MP3 files
(dunno why - sounds stupid to me!)

ii) MOST host companies do not allow the upload of MP3 files
(but easily sorted with the "rename" command!!)
