gemini mixers are no good. they sound like shit and they wear out in less than a year. buy vestax or pioneer or allen & heath.

I've had the PS-626 for almost a year now and have to say I am looking for a new mixer soon. I work my EQ's a lot during any set I play, especially the highs, and the Gemini mixer just hasn't coped, one of my channels the high has gone completely and on the other it is beginning to go. So I am stuck with using channel 1 and 3 just now, and channel 1 does not have its own dB display so it is hard to adjust the sound levels. The faders are crap, no let me rephrase that, the faders are pathetic, they lose any resistance they had within a week making smooth mixing harder. Sound quality is incredibly mediocre and at times makes your mixing sound a lot harsher than other mixers would.

On the plus side, the eq's are quite good and the kills are pretty good. And it is cheap, but you get what you pay for these days.

If you want a better mixer for a similar price I would check out the Behringers range, they are a joy to use compared to the Geminis. But the Vestax is only about Ģ100-150 dearer than the PS-626 (Don't know price of the 700, but it will be more than 626) so in my opinion if you like the Vestax then it will be worth the extra money!

if you have the money for the 275, get it.. if you cant be stuffed saving, just go Gemini. Not all of the mixers are stuffed up. Many last in working condition for years actually.

I have the PS 700, it was a used one and I could get it for a cheap price, it's a nice mixer I think, maybe the faders aren't that good anymore, mine was actually heavy used for 2 years you know. but everything is working on my PS 700.
but if you decide to buy a new one, have you realized if you want to use all the 4 channels, I actually use 3 and it's really enough. I think you have enough with 3, but I don't how much you want to use. Just buy it if you really want to use that 4 channels, I'm sure that there are some better 3-channel quality mixers.
if yours is also a used one, just check it out with some other mixers, and what you could do also, is to check your mixer out for a week, just to check if everything is ok.

good luck, buying it!

The Gemini UMX series are a good bunch of mixers, they last longer than the PS or PMX series. They all come in matt black with VCA faders and generally have good sound and build quality in comparioson to other Gemini mixers. Try checking out the UMX-9.
