I have a little question about soundsythesis. I just created this nice pad-sound with the Supernova II, and there seems to be a phase problem.
Over time, the osc's are phasing each other out, you can understand that this is really annoying to me. However, I think the problem lies with the LFO's, because, to my recollection, they control frequencies over time. I turned off both LFO's, but that didn't help at all.
Does anyone know what this could be:

Some synths have this feature where they have a free running mode for the oscillators, which means that the oscillators keep oscillating when the notes off, and just get their amplitude turned up when you hit the note. As opposed to restarting the oscillator from 0 every time you hit the note. You might be able to turn this off.
I'm assuming you've already tried just turning down the detune on the synth.
Thanks everybody for your responses. I am going to the studio now, so I'll post you the outcome.
So, I'm in my studio right now and tried all the things you guys said:
- The third oscillator was slightly detuned, when I fixed that, the problem still exists.
- Unfortunately there is no 'sync' knob on the supernova, so that didn't help either.
However, I noticed this problem only accurs playing chords. When playing single notes, this doesn't happen....

Maybe ur using too much polyphony, or some kind of mono setting. i know the standard SN 2 has 24 Voices though.

Give us a sample.
You can find a sample in the first post.
I actually don't think it has something to do with the output settings. It's true that the SN2 has 24 voices, so it can't be that. And there just a standard polyphony button, you can't make polyphony settings with it.
It's really starting to bug me

Latency is a delay, I think you mean samplerate.
The problem is really in the sound....

the delay as u call it might be too short for the computer to handle as u are sending midi out also i guess. just try it. i dont know if its help but its not very big hassle to try.
Thanks Palm, but I have no idea what you are talking about regarding to my problem. This pad-patch is the only sound that does this, so it is a problem in the sound structure, not midi or output.

I'm going from memory here (I sold my SNI a few months ago), but there is a sync button in the modulation matrix (to the right of the oscillators IIRC). Press that and then you have control over the level of sync and amount of modulation from each of the LFOs (which could be the culprit).
Could you post a short clip of the patch, preferably with both single notes and chords, so we can hear the sound?

Hi everyone,
I'd like to thank you for all your help. The problem has been resolved now .
It's seemed to be that the combination of reverb, delay and chorus was killing the sound. After turning of these effects, there was no problem.
The only thing I would like to understand is how effects can cause this type of problem... Lesson for the next time
