Now that Soundcontrol has gone bust the audio retail industry aint looking so good in London anymore. Turnkey (being part of SC) has gone way downhill from what hear but still probably has the largest range of demo kit.
Digital village are ok but their shops are small and don't have a huge amount of demo gear.
I would check out studio spares in North London as they have good prices, decent staff and stock all the non-usual stuff like accoustic insulation etc. I don't think they are so great if you're looking for a demo store.
Westend DJ in off Tottenham Court road has a really good range of high end mixers/dj equipment etc and it's close to all the electronic shops (and turnkey and soundcontrol virgin megastore) so it might be worth getting down there.
