Oakenfold deceives Kremlin

TRANCE.NU -- According to Dutch newspaper 'Spits' Oakenfold deceived during his last gig in Amsterdam. The set was as we say in Holland an 'egotrip', Oakenfold just playing the tracks he needs to play but not making contact with the crowd. Many had expected more form what is to be the worlds top DJ. Resident DJ Astrid got the crowd really moving after Oakenfold finished his set making people dance to less commercial tracks. Now this is were the pupil beats his master.

hey.. i dont know whats the deal with oakey. i think it depends on the mood because when i saw him he waw amazing. interacting with the crowd big time and pointing and clapping. great experience and that was about a month ago

All DJs have bad days.This one was probably one of Oakey's bad days.And if this thread turns into another "bash this dj"-thread,I think I'm gonna throw up.

i didn't mean for that to happen, i just think its funny that the most revolutionary man in trance music could indeed do such a thing

oakey of old was the best thing to ever happen to trance music....oakey of new, i guess has to be commercial if he wants to make money (he is a producer, so he has to promote his own productions)

please for the sake of all that is sacred, do not turn this into a bash the dj thread

Well, I personally never liked Oakenfold and consider him an arrogant asshole.

His music never does anything for me. Do you know the difference between "Club Trance" and "Opera Trance"? Well, Oakenfold prefers the latter, which bores me to death. Then, when he plays it, the "connosseurs" start exclaiming, "Ah, what texture!.. What style!.. Rhythmic beauty interwoven with deep texturized layers..."

You can't deny Oakenfold practically shaped the evolution of trance in 1999.
Now, though, he's just become another MTV character. Must be one of the saddest stories of the trance scene.

If it wasn't for him we probably wouldn't be listening to trance at all, the guy's an absolute hero, he can be as arrogant as he likes, show some respect
