I looked back, but since search is down, I can't tell if this topic already exists. If this is a duplicate, let me know, and I'll close this thread.
Have you guys heard of this? Apparently, it's a full-featured operating system that runs through your browser. If you're at school, work, on a business-trip, etc, you can access the same desktop, programs, and settings anywhere. Features:
- Free applications like an office suite
- Secure, backuped file storage
- All friends, documents and applications in the cloud
- Sharing and collaboration in real-time
- XML development tools included - adopt for your needs
- Integrated social community
- Works online and offline
This page contains some screenshots of it. This site details a lot of the technology running this project. And last, but surely not least, check out their YouTube channel for videos demoing the project. Apparently, it's been in development since '01 and just hit beta status last September.
For those of you that have used it already, what're your impressions? This sounds like a really ambitious project, and I'm surprised I haven't heard more about it.
