some of them are well-known mostly just in the Uk, but usually a mercury gives the winner's career a nice boost internationally too, though adele and estelle (ft. kanye) had big singles out here already. neon neon sounded like a cool project on paper (boom bip and singer from super furry animals) but is actually pretty flat. Robert Plant was in Led Zepellin and Last shadow puppets is new project from arctic monkeys singer so there's some big musicians in there despite unfamiliarity of names.

don't think thom yorke will ever win though, got beaten out in previous years for Eraser, Amnesiac, Hail to the Thief & OK Computer.
