Also, I hear its Pride week.. can anyone confirm that?

A nice event going on on the 2nd is "Bounce les Francos", part of huge festival "les Francofolies". The revival of the infamous "Bounce le gros" parties by Ghislain Poirier. Plus, it's free, at Club Soda. Check it out !
And on that weekend, it's MEG Festival and O'Sheaga Festival, check these out !
Concerning Piknic Electronik, you're out of luck, the nicest event in Montreal is on vacation that week end because of O'Sheaga. But the O'Sheaga festival is nice, especially in the MEG stage
