I’ve never cooked cabbage before and could use a little help. I’m trying to replicate this polish dish I recently had. I got a fresh cabbage at the supermarket and I want to know if I should discard the outer dark green leaves. I’m going to chop it up and fry it in a pan with the kielbasa. Any constructive advice appreciated.

making cabbage tonight actually...it's one of my favorites. you can use it all but i throw away the outer layers that look a bit dirty. also how much oil are you adding? no idea what recipe you are following but you only need a small amount to grill the onions (if you are using onions) then add the cabbage sometimes a bit of water. don't want to saturate the great vegetable with fat.
