Music producers fourm Letter of suggestion

Hey there peeps ,
Ive been on this site since december and i joined because i had started to learn production and personally have come a very long way to now and naturally you want to show you work of to people who know about the track/genre , in which the Tranceaddict music producers forum is a natural choice.
When you get here and over the past few months i feel the place is fast becoming a wet lettuce .
I started a thread in the music discussion forum a while back
http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=480280

The reactions people gave were interesting but the usual people who post in the MPF eg mr.mystery, mrjivebojingles and theran to name a few (there are many others too )seem to be all for the fourm but a huge wad find it weird , socially and ethically wrong to step foot in here!
As an amature producer i think its time that something could be done to liven this place up and stop the torrent of no-reply threads and people who think its uncool to listen to amature and nOOb signed producers.
My suggestions are as follows:-
1.I think the genre brackets should be compulsory at the End of the thread title eg Artist-song [genre](So people can target what they like)?
2.ALL new and upcoming release info shifted to the CD review New/upcoming release disscussion board?.
3.Record label advertising section? For labels who want demos and producers to look for labels to send there hopefully good demos too?
4.Constuctive ideas on better ways of letting people hear the music for example , how people can stop losing feedback due to cats and 45 second password things!
5.Finally , some sort of push from everyone to get people to review and comment on your productions .

Im not suggesting a complete redesign of the place , but more of a rethink and tidy up to make it easier for the poor cherubbs of the main forums to come look

Please reply any thoughts you have.
(p.s if anything is rubbish , then comment to the persons music you are referring too , NOT this thread)
cheers

Genre tags would be useful, but I think the real reason that most people don't visit is that a large number of the tracks posted here tend to be in a similar "big room epic trance" style, and a lot of people who post in Music Discussion really can't stand that style anymore. It's not my style either, but I'm still happy to give helpful criticism on tracks and judge them relative to other tracks in the same genre, even if I don't really listen to that genre casually myself anymore.

I think if there were more examples of other genres to be found in here -- more chillout, acid house, deep house, ambient, minimal techno, early-90's style trance, experimental stuff like Autechre or Aphex Twin or BT, etc. -- then a lot more people would visit.

As it is, they tend to think that the place is filled with "ASOT wannabes," even if that isn't strictly true and there is more diversity than they imagine.

I think one small but useful way of increasing responses would be to all contribute a bit for some hosting. Maybe 25-50$ a month divided by whoever's interested. If there are a 100 people willing to contribute, we would have to pay 0.50$ a month. Then, add something like the 'Linkify' add on in Firefox, where you can play links directly in the browser without any downloads, or interruptions from the page you are browsing.

Get into a thread, listen to the track sample then and there without any problems, give opinion, leave.

that is a swell idea!

and i agrea with JBJ here... loads of the tracks are not trying to create anything original... a month ago i used to pass here every week and give everyone feedback, but it was boring after a while.. the ones that made the ASOT style all sounded the same, and the ones that tried differing from that sometimes went too extreme for me so i didn't have any constracting (is that the word?) criticism for them, of course there are exceptions and stuff i actually just enjoy listening here... so i believe a change is neede too...

I like the whole idea of moving release advertisements to the CD/Track Review section. Granted, if someone on a label is genuinely looking for feedback they should be able to post it here.

in that case they would post like a normal post ie no posters/images , release number, blabbing who supports it etc etc
would be easy to differenciate between things like that

Music producers promotion if a artist wants to promote his new release or a Labelwants to i have no problem with that. That is what this forum is for. It's not the producers feedback forum

Putting you stuff here for review is fine. I am just saying not allowing labels and artists to promote themselves as was proposed in this thread is ridiculous. I am all for a feedback forum exclusively for reviewing productions.

no, the reason we have the "CD Reviews / New Releases Discussion" (as i see it) is for labels and artists to put their releases and discuss it there, there they would get feedback, this forum is for the ones that are not released, for them to get important feedback, and not for some label or whatever...

First of all, I don't think it really matters if your track has been released or that you are a bedroom producer (hate the term amateur producer). We are all here to learn something from eachother, whether your a pro or not.

However, I think that if a track has already been released, you have to mention that in the post title. For instance, if I'd put up 'Contact' for review, it should be:

[RLS][Trance/uplifting]Theran - Contact (Original mix)

Because, if I know your a bedroom producer, I'll be a little gentle on my feedback, if you are a pro, I know that you don't appreciate being gentle and just want know what we think.

All in favour say 'aye'.
