What are the specifications I should pay attention to, like values of impedance, frequency range and such?

I want them to be able to play drum'n'bass and dubstep very well, which means a lot of bass and low frequencies.

I was thinking something alonge the lines of these: Click here (Sorry for Croatian link...)

But they don't seem to have very big frequency range (lowest frequency maybe not being low enough?).

What are other good brands of speakers?

Those speakers won't go that low, due to them being physically limited. The woofers on those speakers are too small to recreate the low end. Add a subwoofer if you want lower frequencies paired with those. Or buy some cabinet style speakers. Cerwin Vega is known for their low-end output. However, they may not be the clearest on the high end.

Those speakers you posted are meant to be paired with a subwoofer for a 5.1 surround system.

What's your budget?

I'd go for two nice 5" of 6" self-powered studio monitors from someone like KRK or Samson, coupled with a 10" or 12" subwoofer.

You're never going to get a single cone speaker with a wide enough frquency range to satisfy you.

That said, I use only 2 x 5" at home and I like them okay without a woofer.

Alesis M1 Active MK2 are great hifi active speakers for a reasonable price with bass enough to rock the house

I'm no expert, but I think the answer might be that specifications aren't allways that accurate a gauge, and you should just listen to them yourself.

I got some companion 3s back in 2004. They are great, awesome bass response and very nice highs too (as well as a built in stereo processing thing which makes mp3s sound way better).
