The CDJ 400's have the same pitch resolution as the rest of the pioneer CDJ line I believe (other then the cdj-100) which is .02 and .05 depending on the range selected.
As far as the jog wheel, it feels small , but works great in the vinyl mode. It would probably be safe to say the 400's are a great CDJ with lots of features, but they are no 1000 if you are looking to scratch.
I am looking to trade in my 200's for some 400's , as the price is right.

If they made the platter the same size as the 800's... there would be no reason to buy 800s.
The platter on the 400s is the size of a CD.

I've owned the 400's for about a month now. My only complaint is that unlike the CDJ 1000's MK3, they don't give a visual of a song's peaks and valleys. So far all it's meant is that I have to know my music a lot more thoroughly before just throwing it up on the decks. The drawback is that limits what I can play at a gig because of the familiarity required, lest I be met with a surprise. We'll see if it presents any bigger problems down the line

hey guys quick question for the cdj 400 users
Right now i got a simple starter setup Denon dns-1000's and denon x-100 mixer (cant really complain its GREAT for new users) unfortunatly tho, the pitch control is .02 and it kinda throws me off sometimes ...
ANYWAYS.. i was thinking of upgrading to either the 200's or 400's i know the differenc is the MIDI capability, but if i were to get Torq or serato, do both those programs even have effects to use? it would be pointless to get the 400's instead of the 200's if the program itself wont let you use effects... am i right?
is there any other difference between the 2 systems? if so plz explain, thnx ahead of time
