This is real.

I just saw this news on NBC about these parents, the mother: 21 yrs old, father: 24yrs old, left their 3yr old son at night sleeping on his bed and they left to see the movie. WHAT IS THIS ABOUT??? An anonymous person called the police and when these two individuals arrived at 1am from the seeing the movie they had a police patrol in front of their house waiting for their arrest.
