Sidechain using hardware

Hi all.

When sidechaining using my hardware synth and compressor all i get it the reduction in synth volume but cant hear the kick at all.

Do i need to have the kick output to another channel aswell.

Yes, the kick needs to be assigned to an output as well (i.e., not just to the compressor sidechain input). You may want to just insert a send from from kick track to the SC input.
