Warmup Music

What songs/ dj's do you usually use to warm-up? I've been stuck on a few songs, especially Don't Give Up by Agnelli & Nelson but am looking to expand my warmup library...

you might have to go outside the trance genre for this one.

Look into some breaks or chillout. I never start my sets with a kickdrum. It's not hard look at some music pick what you like.

+1, I try to avoid a kickdrum opening at all costs.

if you start an empty dance floor at 130, you are going to have problems getting it to fill. Work your way up to that especially if the next guy will be playing high bpm stuff.

I like to start without a kick too, but it depends on the crowd. Usually I'll have a couple of IDM, trip hop, breaks and chillout tracks, before sliding it over into some really fluffy prog (the track that you use to do this makes or breaks the set IMO) and then working it up slowly from there into either house or trance. Obviously the most important track is the one you start with, and the first prog track you play, its a very delicate thing and easy to stuff up. On the upshot, very few people turn up to clubs in time for the warmup set so no one sees if you trainwreck.
I'm the master of the warmup set...

because its all I ever get

Yeah, I don't feel too aweful since I was only legally allowed to play since 6 months ago and have had a few gigs since then
Still, you know that feeling where your really craving to just get a beautiful night going and get a whole crowd jumping around like maniacs at 1 am? While simultansously having chinstroker jaws hitting the ground at the back of the club

Depends where your playing? i start quite chunky 6 progressive cus i know thats what people wanna hear at the start of the nite where i play - other than that dont have the volume too loud, people like to chat & soak up the atmosphere before they get down & dirty
