DJ Dean

Listen to any of his stuff lately?
Latest single: Powersystem
Latest EP: Club Analysis, tracks:
Peace Love & XTC, the one that ripped off Better Off Alone
No Gravity, has elements of old-skool trance, such as the galloping synth during the breakdown
The Beat Keeps You Going On, Dean goes electro/techno, is he abandoning trance?

mixing during trance breakdowns was never a good idea.

God, I hate people who say his a shit dj because of his style of music he plays. Have you seen him dj\miss up\train wreck? If not, don't judge people dj skill's based on what kind of music they spin. I don't like his style of music, but respect what he has done with the tunnel trance series.

He didn't say he is shit because of his "style of music". He just said he is shit, plain and simple. Which is pretty much true if you ask me. Why respect shit music? I don't get it.

To be honest, I chair-raved really, really hard this past Spring when this came on in a coffee shop in Amsterdam.

Speaking of Hardcore, heard of DJ Paul Elstak? From the netherlands, one of the few surviving Hardcore DJs.
As for hardtrance, there's this collection of artists from the UK known as the Nu-Energy(not Nu-NRG) Collective, for example, Kevin Energy, K-Complex, Technikal, Arkitech, etc. Close as you get to true hard trance nowadays. K-complex did a cool remake of Barber's Adagio for Strings(take that, Tiesto), one of the tracks featured on the "Live At Frantic" album(2005, Resist Records). I may have mentioned this before in the "tracks that sound like other tracks" thread: Kevin Energy - Pounding Senses uses the hook from Brainchild - Symmetry/Ayla - Singularity Brainchild II. Not as good as the offical remix by Dave 202 & Dumonde(Singularity 2005)
