Funny or Humorous folkways.

Anyone know of any Folkways that we do in culture that humorous, funny, or downright absurd?

I've got a small paper due tommorow about 'Funny Folkways' for my Sociology class, but I can't think of anything that's all that funny. Anyone want to take a stab at this one? Or know one right off the top of their heads?

Although funny, I wonder if I should 'go there'. Being an assignment for class and all, I could see myself getting in a little trouble for that one.

Maybe not though, I might be able to tie that in as another sort of social embrace along with handshaking, high fiving, etc.

"God bless you," shortened to "bless you" comes from way in the past, in Rome (I think) when sneezing was a sign of illness. Of course, without proper medical techniques, illness usually resulted in death.
