does anyone have any recommendations on the best food you can get for your money in vegas? we're staying at mandalay bay from the 26th to 29th and none of us know where to eat. we're not really looking for the ritziest spot on the strip, just some place nice with bomb ass food for my buddy's birthday. anything $30-under works. feel free to throw out any good buffets and hole in the wall joints for the other days we're there too.

stayed at the monte carlo for labor day weekend and the weekend buffet is under $20 and includes all the regular stuff, and also had crab legs. sunday was champagne brunch. pretty good...stay away from the cheesecake though!
if youre at hard rock make sure to hit up mr. luckys for at least one meal and order the gamblers special.
$7.77: Gambler's Special: Steak, three grilled shrimp, a choice of potato or broccoli and a salad. It's not on the menu so you'll have to ask your server.

Our hotel has some pretty bomb spots. What night are we doing D's bday dinner?

I always go to "24/7" at the hard rock at least once while im in vegas. Great value for your dollar, excellent hangover food, and its open 24/7.
"The palm" in the caeser's palace is very perfect for a nice dinner.
If your down for your buffet, the one at the treasure island is fantastic.

The buffet at Bellagio and Rio are by far my fav on the strip. Lots of variety and lots of seafood. If you're into French try Le Village inside Paris great buffet for a decent price if you want something different. Don't know if you guys are into sushi but there's one by Hard Rock on Paradise road called Kaizen. $10-$12 rolls. best sushi in town in that price range.
Another place i recommend is Firefly on Paradise and Flamingo. great place for tapas and mojitos. I think this was featured on the food channel. forgot what show it was.

Mandalay also had a really good chinese food restaurant. It was a lil pricey but all the food melts in your mouth.

It's definitely not the cheapest of restaurants, but Mandalay has Aureole. The restaurant surrounds a 4-story wine tower with 'Wine Angels' that zip through the air to retrieve bottles of wine for guests. The tower holds about 10,000 bottles of wine, most expensive bottle costing $40,000.
