You can't be upset or insulted at someone for wanting to jazz up their food. That's nonsense and stupid.

If you want someone to enjoy their meal, you need to let them eat it how they want with what they want on it, on the side, or in it.

The only way to be really insulted by someone after you've cooked is if they spit it out, turn their nose up at the meal before they take a chance on it, or say " i don't like potatoes so, no" even before they've tasted what you made. I've been cooking for years for friends, roomies + parents (and my moms a chef so if I'd be insulted by what she did..I'd quit lol) and if I were to stop someone from putting something to their preference on the food, I'd feel bad.

Maybe its rude but the person is not doing it to be rude.... so dont take it like that. I kinda feel what you are saying though as i take pride in my cooking. I would of just been like "sure"
