Your thoughts on this bassline please!

Alright folks,
I've been trying to improve the quality of my basslines as im finding it one of the hardest parts to get right in making a trance tune. Ive read countless articles on here about ways to make professional sounding basslines and a big thanks to fellow tranceaddict members Sterilis, Onova, Dj-Igloo and Derivative, whose previous posts have been very informative. I like the Discover style basslines and therefore this attempt is based on the layering approach. If you would care to take a listen and give me some constructive feedback on ways to improve i would be extremely grateful.

It consists of 4 layers of bass arranged in the following way:

Sub:
K---K---K---K---
--b---b---b---b-
high pass at 30, low pass at 110
no effect, bit of sidechain

low mid:
K---K---K---K---
-b-b-bb--b-b-bb-
hp at 60, lp at 2800
no effect, sidechaining

high mid:
K---K---K---K---
--b--b-b--b--b-b
hp at 260, lp at 2000
sidechain and bit of delay

high:
K---K---K---K---
-bBb-bBb-bBb-bBb
hp at 400, lp at 10000
sidechain and delay

The low and high mid use the same preset from albino, just an octave apart. The high bass uses a different patch from albino. Thanks for your time,

Patrick.

hey mate,
sounds pretty good to me, I'll listen to it again in my monitors for more "details".

I don't know what's your style or what kind of song are you working on, but I would use diferent patches for the Hi bass and mid (this is only personal taste)

what do you use for the sub?? it sounds very cool

ps: very nice kick!

The sub is just a single sine wave from vanguard, played on A1 on my midi keyboard. Glad you like the kick, im a big fan of sean tyas and john o'callaghan so have tried to emulate something similar to that sort of style.
