How do you get around Ableton's 128 parameter limit?
Hey guys
I tend to use Sylenth1 a lot these days and although I love the synth I am, unfortunately, unable to automate all of its parameters because they exceed the 128 limit allowed by Live. At the present time I am working on a new electro tune: I am using an LFO to slightly mess around with the pitch of a sound and I'd like to automate both the LFO rate and the pitch (so that as the LFO cycles more and more quickly the pitch increases correspondingly). However, the pitch (called (if I remember correctly) LFO destination 1) falls outside of the first 128 parameters and, so, I am not sure how to automate it. The only thing I can think of would be to automate the rate and increase the pitch manually and record that process into a wave--not very practical, nor would it be precise.
Any help here? Is there any way to increase the number of parameters beyond 128? Maybe some add-on program(s) that can do the job?
Thank you kindly!

You go to the forum and post in the thread with the other 400 million users who will storm down the Abes HQ and rape them if they don't fix this...
I think some people use some sort of wrapper. I remember reading about it on the Ableton forums or something to that effect. I would find it for you but it's 1:30am and I'm about to pass out.

if you have a midi controller just map a couple of knobs to the desired params in Sylenth, then record as you go! (into the clip)
ive been doing this a lot more recently and have been enjoying the process a lot more than going back and doing tedious automation on every track
That's exactly what I was thinking of doing. I have to figure out how to properly map parameters to my controller (Remote SL) though. I've followed the instructions in the Novation manual in the past but for whatever reason I've never been able to get it right. I'll figure it out

Just use Ableton's own midi mapping function. Only takes a couple of clicks. I have a Remote SL too, but haven't bothered with Automap, as I like to just map my own knobs and sliders.

I haven't tried Live's midi mapping yet so this may be a silly Q, but since I want to map the parameters of a VST not the sequencer (i.e., Live), won't I be unable to map the VST's parameters through Live?

just activate midi mapping, move the knob you want a bit from the vst via your mouse (to let live know what you want) and then move the knob on your midi keyboard, dont forget to turn off the midi mapping after that tho ... thats it i think...

Thanks for the suggestion
I tried it and, unfortunately, it did not work.
