I was playing around on one of these last week. It's pretty sweet. The entire screen is a "button" that is depressed when you push on it. The screen needs to be depressed a certain amount before the touchscreen function activates (not much but enough to make it clear that this is an intentional touch). The result of this is that you do not have the accidental touches messing up what you were doing like can result on the i-phone. The user interface is pretty much the same as present blackberries, which is great if you already use a blackberry but sucks if you're going for the consumer market and i-phone. Having used both I can say the i-phone interface is way cooler/more fun; however, being a blackberry user I found this interface easier to use (probably more do to familiarity than anything else). The best feature about this phone is that it can either be a full qwerty keyboard (if held horizontally) or a sure-type keyboard (like the Pearl line) if held vertically. The qwerty keyboard appeals to some as it is the same as a standard keyboard; however, if you have fat fingers the sure-type keyboard offers larger buttons. The worst feature about this (as with all touch screens) is that you have to look at the screen to know what keys you are hitting. But have no fear... RIM has patented a blackberry with a touch screen and slide out keyboard (Shhhh... you didn't hear that from me).
*** edit - feature for feature this phone blows the i-phone away; however, the i-phone is prettier and the interface is more fun so the Apple fanboys will never accept it.

Well, it's the only wireless provider that is getting this phone available..In fact, Telus has a direct contract with RIMS I believe since they sell the most blackberries...I have Rogers now, but I will be switching close to the end of this year.
Rogers sucks as well, I am not sure which one is better.

Telus > Rogers, hands down

in simple terms - you have to buy their phones to use their service
Rogers and Fido are GSM - since I travel home, I need a service like that so I can change SIM cards

It will also be available for Bell and Rogers (there are both SIM and SIM free versions... I was using a SIM version). My understanding is that the launch date is still set for late November.
