Steve Mill: Alpha EP [Urban//Torque]

Steve Mill: Alpha EP

1. Alpha
2. Let's Go Higher
3. Big Deep Dub

Propped by many as a young producer to note, Steve Mill continues to carve out a niche for his brand of zestful melodious tech house. The ‘Alpha EP’, Steve’s third EP on Urban Torque, presents three unadulterated cuts packed full of drama and feeling. It’s yet another string in this Greek’s bow as he amasses an increasingly strong repertoire.

1. ‘Alpha’ – A vivid, atmospheric, jubilant ode to the synth that’ll light-up dark rooms.

2. ‘Let’s Go Higher’ – A jolly romp that slides and grooves mischievously along to its high-pitched melody.

3. ‘Big Deep Dub’ – Steve Mill switches to stealth mode and this cut does what it says on the tin. It subtly trickles along a moody path, the dark to ‘Alpha’s light.

"I'm always interested when new young producers catch my ear, and here's one of them... hats off to Urban Torque!" Ben Watt

Greek DJ and producer, Steve Mill, first started garnering interest within the electronic music scene in 2006 with a cheeky mash-up of Madonna’s ‘Frozen’ catching the attention of Sander Kleinenberg amongst others. Since then, Steve’s ‘Lia’ track has been selected by Hernan Cattaneo for his ‘Sequential Vol.2’ mix compilation, while his releases on Urban Torque, ‘Bright Side EP’ and ‘China Story EP’, have received acclaim from the likes of Ben Watt, John Aquaviva and Andy Caldwell.

Reactions:

FunkDVoid: “gorgeous stuff here...respect!”
Laurent Garnier: “really lovely deepness, I like the 3 tracks in there, will play for sure (as always)
Hernan Cattaneo: “tracks 2/3 are the ones for me”
Anil Chawla: “Really nice warmth from Steve - Love the pads in 'Alpha'. Proper UrbanTorque stuff (without stating the obvious!)”
Behrouz: “really liked lets go higher and will play it. thanks”
Hector Romero: “Deep and lovely!”

Alpha and Let's Go Higher do it for me.

Urbantorque has been top notch for years. The Departure Lounge releases on there are sick!

Steve Mill - Q For Quality is as close to straight up trance that I will play these days and is another jam!
