That's not the case here really. If I pull up the standalone mixer window I can actually solo each track that's available individually. Even if it's a multi-output instrument.

passiva is right, you can solo each track on the mixer but the problem was on soloing on the arrangement window, but i found out how to sort it..
Preferences > Audio > General > Track Mute/Solo = Slow
Now you can solo each track via the3 arrangement window..
One peroblem with this is that when you click a track in the arrangement window the relevant mixer track in the Inspector and Mixer would normally be hilighted, but it doesnt..

does logic render direct to mp3? if so hows the quality of that render? alternavives? VBR, 320kbps etc

Yes it does. But I'd rather use LAME because of the quality.

can logic use the lame.dll then or would i need a converter software prog installed on the mac too?
