Authorised Dealers are good if something breaks within the warranty period, you can send it back to them and, they will take care of it.
I don't buy anything new on Ebay but, if I wasn't technically inclined, I would probably buy from an authorised dealer.
The few products I bought on Ebay that were new I didn't pay any mind if the seller was an authorised dealer or not.
Since I repair my own gear, authorised or non-authorised holds little weight to me.
