Why not Axis-9's?

Ok, so it seems that for starter CDJ's, everybody will recommend CDJ200s. However, I don't like the look of how that platter feels (cmon, metal? :S), so I will never want to touch that ever.

So, I really want CDJ1000's, trouble is, I have to win the lottery first.

So I am looking into Axis 9's, and I have never seen anyone here talk about them. From what I can read about them they seem solid. So what does the CDJ200, or the CDJ400, do that the Axis won't?

Note: I will probably only use them at home, but please tell me what you would think about them if I were to play out with them.

My current setup is a Numark Total Control, which does excactly what I want it to do, althought the pitch control is all too short and has too low a resolution. Upgrading from that to Axis 9's, what do think now?

And I'm probably getting a DXM-somenumber mixer with them as well.

Numark CD players have extreamly shitty cd drives that take forever to load if they load at all, I had a numark CDN95 dual CD player that only worked for about a year untill it didnt want to read any of my cd's no matter what I did, I turned it in to get fixed and it stopped wokring 6 months later, so I use vinyl now and i got a cdj 200, planning on getting a cdj 400 in the future to pair with it, the 200 is great, my only gripe about it is that the platter is really sensative BUT with a bit of practice you can get used to it

I've had a pair of Axis 9 for about 3 years now, and one thing is sure, they are not Pioneers.
But IMO it's an excellent cdj to start out with, if the price is right.
Both mine still work, but every now and then it throws the track of pitch. Havn't had any problems with them not reading CD's, except if the CD is overburned (80+ min).
Still, I'd recommend even the Pioneer 100's due to quality.

pitch control interval is the biggest difference
the axis9 = .1%
pioneer cdj 200 = .02%

thats such a big difference it blows my mind that anyone would consider the numarks. i made that mistake myself and bought the 9's because i liked all the effects and crap. i wish i had someone to tell me what a mistake it was. both of my numarks would pick and choose what cds it would play, when it would freeze, half the buttons on one of em wouldnt work at all... disaster.

Alright then. Will get CDJ-400's with a KORG KM-402 Mixer (Kaoss Pad )

Instead of creating a new thread, any ideas on that mixer? Seems fine to me, although there are no kill switches which is weird. But I figure I don't really need them, seeing as the EQ's can be set to total kills.
