Just a vst recommendation.

Some of you may or may not know about it. Its not new, but with all the vsts out there now and days that essentially do the same bs, this is something I actually think has a very useful purpose in anyones arsenal.

The harmony improvisator:

I had to see if it was just something that looked cooler than it is, so I got it and I can say it really is cool as shit.

It will go and go and go forever mixing different notes and its really easy to find nice thick progressions with.
The best part is if you're just in a creators block it really helps fire up some new ideas.
I've been playing with the thing all day and I love it. Really cool.

Great! I am going to start learning music theory as i feel that is the biggest roadblock in me finishing songs, i think this will help with that.

Redrum is the best, but I think the best part about Reason overall is infinite routing. Theres virtually no limits, its like crack for creative people.
Still have to use FL for the sequencer though lol

My review on the chordspace free vst is that it seems to do a lot less than the improvisator, which is to be expected because its free.

But I notice overall (and I don't know SHIT about music theory) that the chordspace seems to be lacking with adding lower chords to thicken out the sounds. I also just get 2 completely different sounds from each on average, which improv being thicker and a lot more emotional with better calculated progressions.

Lately I've been using Fruity for pads, and higher synths like pads/leads etc.
I use Reason for drums, and for and thing where I need good mastering.
The Reason compressor owns FL's imo, and so does its chorus and phaser.
Than I use subtractor for bass because I'm yet to find one vst that makes really rips out basses like subtractor. It colors bass in a beautiful way with out needing to run noise through envelopes etc.

So I guess I use FL for both rewire and exporting, this has only been a recent change though but I love it so far.
