This is basically the first tune I finished in Reason (used to do some trance in FL but that was like 6-7 years ago), so I got all excited and had to share it

It's pretty short, simple, fun (hopefully) track - really don't know what genre tags would describe it best.

And since I'm getting into producing again, any feedback is appreciated

I was surprised to see your name at the top of this forum because I hadn't remembered you posting here before. I didn't even know you produced.

Will listen and report back shortly.

Sounds good. Personally I'd like to hear some more manipulation of the rhythm and samples. The sounds themselves are right for an IDM track, but the beats and the use of samples feel a bit too "straight." If you put in some rushes and stutters and switch up the rhythm / order of the hits more often then you'll really be on your way.

I use Reason as well, by the way. If you could send me the RNS file, I'd like to play with it a bit.

Agreed on the effects. If I knew how to do it, I'd probably use some of them. I guess I wasn't really sure if I wanted to add this kind of IDM wankery - because the very first idea wasn't to make an IDM track - but I guess it would make it more interesting.

PM sent, thanks for that

Cool. I've done some IDMish stuff before myself. It's actually really fun to make all the "wankery," as you called it.

Right now I'm mostly working on ambient / generally weird percussionless tracks, though, with the majority of the sounds coming from manipulation of various samples.
