I coated the shoulders of mine (hdj 1000s) with epoxy. You could run them over with a car. The entire headphones will be in bits, but the shoulders will still be intact.

Still using my Technics RP-DH1200 since 2005. The leather is cracked all over and the arm broke last week but with the help of a few twisty ties I managed to repair them. Quality hasn't been reduced but I definately need some new earcups.

heh. used to own one of these. broke mine.
get 7506 seriously. sounds better than the technics, and durable as hell. only cost around 150 bucks, depends on where you look

Interesting....
I used some Allen and Heath Phones about a month ago, during a set and they had a magnetic ear pieces to lock the phones in, i found them ok over all.....still prefer the 1000's
