Xbox 360 Hardrive Question

I plan on buying a 360 tomorrow or sometime soon. My girlfriend's brother has a spare 15GB hardrive that he is willing to give me. So my question is, if I buy the Arcade version of 360, will I be able to swap the hardrive with the 15GB one? I figure I could save some money if I do it this way.

the arcade release has no hard drive. so you can just pop this one right in. format it. and you're good to go.
