Sup guys I'm planning a trip with about 8-15 people to Montreal for New Years, should be a 3 day type thing.

Last time I came to Montreal I stayed at the Econo-Lodge right outside the city (it was pretty cheap and decent quality), would this be feasible for a large group of people right around New Years or should we try to book a hotel in advance?

Also what streets/bars should we check out? Any trance/edm events going on at this time?

Any other recommendations/tips? I've never been there on New Years I'd appreciate some info.

btw last time I came to Montreal we:

got a trash can hurled at us by a crazy homeless guy
bought weed right from the guy who was working the counter at a Ben and Jerry's
(my friend) got scammed by a homeless guy
