Ziptnf - Midnight Complex [full on psy]

This is my very first set, so be critical. My headphone jack is messed up, so everything was mixed live. I still think the tracklist is good, and while I messed up some transitions, I got better at them towards the end.

Enjoy, and let me know what you think!

1. JFK - Inaugural Speech
2. Bizarre Contact vs Dooper Doopler - System Overload
3. Xerox & Illumination - Battleship
4. Space Cat vs Pixel - Test Frequency
5. Digicult vs Fatalt - The Return
6. GMS vs Pixel - Pixgod
7. Mack - White Sin (Wrecked Machines rmx)
8. Human Blue - Party Deluxe
9. Astrix - Techno Widows (GMS Remix)
10. Space Buddha - Storm Reaction
11. Alien Project vs Orion - Closing In
12. Wizzy Noise ft. John 00 Fleming - Endelehia

Ziptnf - Midnight Complex.mp3 - 106.07MB (78:07)

OK, and I'm being honest here.

Some very cool tracks in there, and I know you were mixing sans headphones which is an absolute bitch, but I felt the overall flow of the mix was quite up and down, banging tracks leading into much trancier ones, which hampered the progression.

Some of the transitions were abrupt, and not really mixed, but then without headphones it would be a nightmare anyway, so kudos regardless!

Enjoyed the mix over all, and there are some cracking tracks that I need to hunt down as a result

I agree completely, and I thank you for being honest. I know the tracklist has potential, maybe a different track arrangement would have been better, starting with the trancier, slower to progress ones, and ending with the slamming tracks.

That track by Space Cat and Pixel, Test Frequency, is an absolute mind-blower but I'm sure you've heard it before

I need to find some good hardware so I can plug in my headphones and have better cues. I actually mixed this with headphones (and I realize the equalization may not have been up to par either) but I wasn't able to redirect the audio from one deck to my headphones while the other deck played out the speakers. Any suggestions with regards to that?

I just gave this a listen. Never been into Psy, but I liked some of the tracks. At least this stuff is energetic, unlike house which often just puts me to sleep. Overall a pretty enjoyable mix, however I must agree that the progression was strange sometimes. Then again, what do I know.

Beginner's follies I sorta chose the tracks at random and didn't really consider the order of them, so your question of my progression is valid.

Thanks for the listens! Glad to have guys like you give me feedback!

Thanks for checking out psy anyway

Been meaning to listen to this for a while... although haven't been in a full on mood until now. I'll listen all the way through and see what I think.

mmm nice opening choon. and nice flow with the next track... and the one after too. Keeps the energy going, and goodish tracks.

Whats with this frequency test song? well, at least it didn't do that crap for too long and was actually fairly interesting.

Flow kind've dies halfway... and you did a few fade in/outs type mixes without reason.

Pretty good for a first mix regardless IMO. Looking forward to you making more
