Matthew Dekay – If I Could Fly (The Remixes) | OUT NOW !!!

Matthew Dekay – If I Could Fly (The Remixes)

A. Kosmas Epsilon Remix
B. Patch Park Remix
C. Sebastian Davidson Remix
D. Darin Epsilon Remix
E. Gringo Gomes Remix

Release date: OUT NOW (beatport exclusive)
Label: Deep Records DEEP049

Release Info:

Back in 2003 when progressive was still one of the most popular, if not thé most popular, genres ruling the dance planet, Deep Records released Matthew Dekay’s stunning “If I Could Fly” with a massive remix by Madoka on the flip. It’s now five years later and the track will be doing new rounds with new remixes with today’s sound. Remixers are not the least with Kosmas Epsilon and Patch Park as the two guys who are in the scene for quite some years now, Sebastian Davidson who is making a name for himself for about two or three years and relative newcomers in production Darin Epsilon and Gringo Gomes to top it off.

First remix comes from Kosmas Epsilon. Good at producing so many different styles and genres this time he takes things on a more techier route. The bassline does its driving part, the crazy pads ’n fx work their way around and then a very techy synth stabs it so the focus gets to lie there. Really bouncy and almost techno-like this piece of music should appeal to loads of dj’s around.

Patch Park shows once again that his change of sound is a good thing for the proggy/techy heads out there. Starting off with warm percussion and bass he adds a detroit-like synth that is in the same league with the popular Amsterdam techno sound with labels like Intacto, 100% Pure and Remote Area. Warm, techy and energetic at the same time. What do you want more?

Next up is Sebastian Davidson who starts off with tribal percussion and a deep fat bass. Deep house and techy at the same time he slowly builds his remix up to perfection. Vocal snippets echo their way throughout the track, while later on a beautiful warm strings stabs are added to create this floating feel. Proper warm-up material.

Chicago based Darin Epsilon is starting his remix with some distorted and echoing sounds this mix takes it away when the fierce kick comes in to play. In the background the bass is swelling its way back and forth in a deep and nearly grumbling manner. Some sci-fi-like fx, a machinical sounding pad and lush melodicness set the mood even further. Pure progressive house with a really nice lush melodic twist.

Last up is Gringo Gomes, a dutch dj/producer duo who took Dekay’s original and turned it into some crazy dancefloor killer. Gone is the progressive sound and the freaky combination of techno and house hits you in the ears while going mental. The beat/bass/percs combination is just out of this world. It’s so catchy and bouncy there’s no way to resist it. Then all kinds of freaky, fuzzy sounds come along which make it even more danceable. This is no bland techno rip-off, this is how freaky techno should sound.
