Vinyl distribution slowly biting the dust

First I heard about the Canadian distributor, Fusion 3
& now Neuton - Sad times for many vinyl labels atm.
Another nail in the coffin?

Read more about Neuton Distribution Their clients were
labels such as Minus, Perlon, Bpitch, Archipel...

The way I see it's removing the middle man. There were all kinds of things wrong with the former vinyl distribution system, it actually makes more sense now for a lot of labels to deal directly with the retailers. In the end the consumer will get better a product/service.

there will always be the internet.

it isn't as expensive as people think it is, and you will always have infinitely more selection.

Vinyl isn't dead, the old ways of buying it are the only thing that are.

Yeah but many of these distributors have P&D deals.. Smaller labels
will be forced to shut down their operations or adopt the digital
only platform. Ok, so lets say we cut out the middle man - your label
presses 500 copies.. with your personal contacts within Canada - you'd
sell how many, 40-50? How do you infiltrate the other markets?

Selling your label's vinyls on your website - individual shipping costs
can accumulate, whether if a customer just wants 1 item from your online
web-store or you're sending a batch to record store x in Germany and
record store y in England.
