My opinion of Mark Oliver has greatly improved since I first saw him at 2002 Labour of Love. He didn't play a good set (in my opinion) at that event and did not respond to the crowd at all. He was wicked at the Ferry Corsten ultraspin event, blew the house off for Tiesto recently, and he rocked in my home town two days ago at Club Phoenix. He did almost a 5 hour set in London on Thursday too, which surprised me. I saw that the door to the Dj booth was open so I just walked down and started talking to him. I got him to sign my Timeless Trance CD and we started talking Dj stuff. He thought I was one of the resident Dj's at the Phoenix, which was very amusing.

Once the club started to get rammed, I left and let him do his thing, but shook his hand and told him he should open for any European Dj that ever comes to any Canadian club. He's a world class Dj by far and he is really a very nice man once you talk with him. He's kinda like PvD sometimes though...all business behind the decks....and there's nothing wrong with that.

I saw him at Phoenix last Thursday and I wasn't all that impressed. His mixing was a bit distraction at times.

He did play a remix of "Where the Streets have No Name" tho, which I enjoyed, and the beer was good.

I'd probably go see him again if he comes to London again, but I don't think I'd go out of my way to see him.

I've always loved Mark. He lays down some sick stuff and it's always a pleasure to be graced by his presence.

Side note: I want his shirt with the little Brazil flag on the side!

And how many times have you seen him? Once? At VIVA?

I'm part of the Mark does not rock camp. He'll never be beyond toronto cause he doesn't have his own style. He's been DJing for years and years and he still hasn't been able to establish it.

Incorrect. It's been a few times now. Anyhow, t'was my opinion, nothing more or less.

I've seen him 4 times and every time he has played a different type of set from techno, uplifting trance to hard trance to dark house to some funk and even some brazillian shit. He's pretty diverse but I agree that he doesn't stick to one particular genre and that's he's "all over the place." His mixing sometimes....where he mixes one track, fades back, goes back and forth again, is kind of a pain, but it's still pretty cool.

I've enjoyed his set 3 of 4 times I've seen him.

Dude stop Highjacking and post your anti-mark opinions in another thread...or I'll call uncle BUSH!
You say Mark hasn't found his style, You're saying that he'll never surpass the Toronto scene..Well, then you should know that I've talked to people as far as Hong Kong,New zeland,Germany, Ibiza and Israel that have heard of this man's ability and talent behind the turntables and would LOVE to see him Spin his magic into their souls.

Mark Does have a style...You just haven't felt it yet...As the song says: Don't think it...Feel it...
